Poway Weapons & Gear Range is looking for motivated individuals with outgoing personalities to work in our indoor gun range & store located in Poway California.
We are now interviewing for positions supporting our Range Operations. The Poway Weapons & Gear range is the 3rd largest indoor gun range in the country with 42 shooting lanes.We have a fast paced, dynamic environment that requires unique customer service skills along with a high attention to detail and outgoing personalizes. This position is critical to the growth of our operations and our continual commitment towards excellent service for our guests and members.
The right candidates will have an outgoing personality and be comfortable in a firearms/shooting range environment. Firearm industry knowledge and background is highly desirable but not required. Additional skills such as excellent interpersonal skills, computer literacy, ability to multi-task and being a team player are also important factors. Anyone applying must be able to legally possess a firearm (therefore at least 21 years of age). Women with firearms or shooting experience backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
Range Operations candidates may be identified to become Range Safety Offices (RSO’s) and are responsible for the safety of all customers and staff. Once trained they will have extensive knowledge about the operation of firearmsof all types, and may be called upon to offer assistance for shooters using the any of our 42 lanes. The range operations staff’s primary duty isto organize, conduct and supervise safe shooting activities and rangeoperations for all shooters at all times.
All range staff will provide range orientation for newmembers and guest shooters. They will also ensure thatthe entire facility and all operations are maintained at the highest standards.
All CANDIDATES MUST PASS CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
Position’s Essential Functions:
- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at all times
- Monitor all activity on the 42 shooting lanes, at all times
- Assist customers with appropriate lane and target operation
- Promote and smoothly execute instructional programs and shooting events
- Know and follow emergency response plans when required
- Operate internal Point-of-Sale software
- Sell memberships and retail inventory
- Assist in performing end of day secured inventory shelving
- Keep range and surrounding areas sanitary and neat
- Perform all computer functions as assigned by management
- Maintain productive relationships with established customers
- Attend training as required by management
- Work as a team player with all staff
- Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with everyone
- Maintain a well groomed, professional appearance at all times
- Adhere to corporate policies at all times
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods
Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Proficient with Microsoft Office technology
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Highly self motivated/able to work without direction
- Naturally friendly and positive daily attitude
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to carry out directives efficiently
- Proficient with handguns, rifles
- Desire to learn new skills and accept responsibility

Starting Wage based on background and qualifications.
